A 7” hand tied handle starts 1 ¼” from the “Kashira” or butt cap, finished with a decorative knot to form a built in grommet or “Tsuba”. The knot pattern forms a straight line the length of the “Tsuka” or handle, black in color. The wood is sanded to 12000 grit and polished with wax. Its natural colors and grain shine through. African Blackwood makes a baton that is "King of Batons!" It is one of the hardest, heaviest, strongest and most beautiful woods for a baton. Unfortunately I have exhausted all of my sources for full length stock. I still have a limited supply for making batons of approximately 23" in length. First come, first serve on these few left!
