A 7” hand tied handle starts 1 ¼” from the “Kashira” or butt cap, finished with a decorative knot to form a built in grommet or “Tsuba”. The knot pattern forms a straight line the length of the “Tsuka” or handle, black in color. The wood is sanded to 12000 grit and polished with wax. Its natural colors and grain shine through. This baton shows off a large portion of sapwood to give it a unique look.
