The nunchaku is a traditional Okinawan martial arts weapon consisting of two sticks connected at one end by a short chain or rope.  I attach my version of the nunchaku with a short chain with swivels on each end.  The wooden ends are 13" in length.  The legality of nunchaku in the United States varies from state to state.  In California for example, they are legal for persons with Peace Officer status and martial arts practitioners.  In 2015, police in the town of Anderson, California have been trained and deployed to use nunchuks as a form of non-lethal force.
